The world-famous exterior marquee is a full city block long and incorporates enough neon tubing to run
six linear miles. The main foyer dwarfs guests with its 60 feet high ceiling lined with real 24 carat gold
leafing. The foyer staircase takes you under Erzra Winter's giant sixty foot by thirty foot mural, and
Hildreth Meiere's plaques of "Spirits of Song, Drama and Dance" take up the South wall. The
plaques are considered to be the earliest use of aluminum, bronze, chrome, copper, enamel and steel used
as art on such a scale. And this is all before you even get inside the auditorium.
